Our Group
New Goodwill Investment Co Ltd is the ultimate holding company of the following six subsidiaries: New Goodwill Co Ltd, Goodwill Distribution (Rodrigues) Ltd, Medine Distillery Company Limited, Ace Refiners Co Ltd, Anytime Investment Ltd and New Fabulous Investment Ltd. New Goodwill Investment Co Ltd has as associate International Distillers (Mtius) Ltd. The Group is mainly involved in the production and distribution of raw alcohol, local rum and other spirits
History
New Goodwill Investment Group: A Legacy of Resilience and Growth
Pioneering Spirit since 1961
In April 1961, the New Goodwill Co Ltd was incorporated. It aimed at bringing together under the same roof all private bottlers of rum operating in the trading sector. The project was implemented at the request of Government whose objective was to rationalise and exercise more control on the production, marketing and sales of local alcohol distilled from molasses, a by-product of the sugar industry.
In 1998, the company changed its name to “New Goodwill Investment Co Ltd.”
In 1999, New Goodwill Investment Co Ltd acquired 50% stake in International Distillers (Mtius) Ltd and took over the management of the Company.
We marked our presence in Rodrigues by the setting up of Goodwill Distribution (Rodrigues) Ltd in 2009.
In 2021, New Goodwill Investment Co Ltd purchased an additional 33.33% shares of Medine Distillery Company Limited, bringing its shareholding to 66.66%, thus taking over the management of the Company. Today, the Group is vertically integrated from the distillation of molasses to produce raw alcohol to the bottling and distribution of local rum and other spirits.
